October 2 and a 6.00AM start.  Last day of the tour but by no means least.  We dropped the trailer at Hermannsburg—the road, for want of a better word, was REALLY going to be rough.  Definitely 4WD only.

Palm Valley was worth the bumps and even the bruise on the head for me when I bounced into the ceiling of the truck.  Stunning and awe inspiring to see these Palms whose ancestors are from a time long past.  Millions and millions of years.  Relics of pre-historic Earth.

We enjoyed our last “Black and Gold Fruit Cake” and spotted a few brumbies too.  Breathtaking scenery.

We stopped at Hermannsburg—old Lutheran Mission—to pick up the trailer, ice cream and final group photos with the truck.

On the way to Alice Springs we made arranges to meet for dinner at a pizza place.  This ended up being full and in the end we went to what turned out to be the perfect spot in Todd Mall—The Sports Bar.  Great food, seats outside and a wonderful chance for just about all of us to reflect on the last 5 days and plan our next adventures.
