Munda Biddi Pilgrimage
Day 5 – Thursday September 8: Donnybrook to Jarrahwood
Another beautiful day, perfect temperature, clear skies and comfortable transfer in the mobile church back to Donnybrook close to trails end the day before. JD and Robyn drove stage one of what would be a three stage day. A little single track and fire trail brought smiles to the faces of the followers. A brief stop for morning tea and change of drivers and riders then it was onward past a cow that had just brought new life to the world. The cow was displeased with the intrusion so with respect the riders moved on briskly.
Kim, Lyndy and Clare drove the middle section. The riders were blessed as they passed a most stunning Blue Lake before we were all reunited at border to a pine forest for lunch.
Paul and JD drove the last leg to Jarrahwood then rode back in to meet the pilgrims. The last ten kilometres were perfect – relatively flat, single track, native bushland, blue skies, wildflowers out and the sound of Black Cockatoos. And Jarrahwood is a delightful little town caught in the past with small timber buildings set on dirt roads and green grass pastures. It was now the end of time on the bike and the end of Munda Bidda Trail for the Church and Convent members.
Riding back in the vans was a time of reflection and, for a few, a little sleep.
Plenty of fun and early stage reminiscing over dinner at Bianco Gourmet Pizza http://www.yourrestaurants.com.au/guide/bianco_gourmet_pizza/ .
