Munda Biddi Pilgrimage

Day 3 - Tuesday September 6: Nanga Camp site to Lake Brookman then onto Bunbury

A well-practised congregation now indoctrinated in the ways of the parish had no problems with morning prayers, sacrifices and coffee before starting day 3.  All the earthly positions of the pilgrims were loaded as today we moved base camp from Rockingham to Bunbury.

With all aboard the mobile churches a quick stop was had at Dwellingup to make a personal and private donation then onto Nanga Camp site for the start.  JD and Paul headed off in the vans leaving the rest of the pilgrims to muster up and ride on some undulating brown dirt that was nicely moist from overnight rain.  There was tree felling in the areas and a small camp group.  A couple of hours into the ride we came upon the King Jarrah.  It’s here the group united again as one on the trail as JD and Paul had riden a sweet downhill to the same spot.  We all rode uphill to dirt road and lunch at the vans.

After lunch JohnO, Lyndy, Kim and Phil drove the mobile churches however struggled to get to Lake Brookman dam for pickup because Clarke Road was closed.  Ah, the challenges we face - "Yet We Shall Overcome".  With trust in traditional methods and abandoning modern technologies the faithful four took Kevron Road then back to Clarke Road and onto Lake Brookman.   JohnO and Phil rode almost back to Hoffman Hill Road missing everyone - somehow.  Praise the Lord because divine guidance was with us all as we found one another in the wilderness and reunited for photos and celebrations overlooking the dam.

Back in the vans for the drive to Bunbury and the new (/old) apartments at Hillway (aka Hillsong).  More supplies were gathered and on the walk to dinner a three bottle sacrifice was made as we approached the Bunbury Catholic Church on Money Street.  Was it a sign ? … no … it was just a tragic loss of red wine.  Despite the loss the pilgrims pushed on finally settling on dinner at the Trafalgar Hotel.
